After the war in Iraq and the illegal immigratio,the gay rights is of the most debated subject in USA. The state of Massachusetts has allowed

Same sex partners to marry. The gay couples in Massachusetts

have the same right as heterosexual couples. The law does not apply

to non residents.  Gays that live outside of the State cannot get married

in Massachusetts.  The State of Connecticut while it does not have a similar law will recognize gay couples married  in Massachusetts .

The State of Connecticut as well as Vermont’s have adopted a “civil union Law”

that extends all rights of married couples to same-sex couples, except for the right

to marry. Connecticut’s civil unions will not be recognized by the federal

government or in the other 49 States.

Gay rights activists feel that the two victories for gays rights are mostly 

Symbolic since the marriages aren’t recognized outside of those places.
